Adi Kumbeshwarar Temple - It is believed that Govinda Theeksithan, the Chieftain of Achutha Nayakar of Thanjavur, renovated this oldest temple during 16th century.

Sarangabani Temple - This temple is considered one among the three major shrines of Lord Vishnu and it was renovated during the period of Nayaka Kingdom of 16th century.

Somessar Temple - The architectural style and element of this temple resembles the Dravidian Architecture of 13th century of Chola period.

Nageshwarar Temple - Nageswaran temple otherwise known as "Koothandavar Kovil", Adithya Cholan of Chola dynasty constructed this temple during 12th century.

Ramasamy Temple - Achutha Nayaka of Thanjavur constructed the Ramasamy temple during 16th century.

Chakkarapani Temple - Agampara Vinayakar, Panchamuga Aancheneyar and Vijayavalli are the important idols located in this temple.

Kambatta Viswanathar Temple - In the olden days this area is known as Malathi Vanam and it is believed that a famous saint called "Thoomakehu" found this temple.

Pana Pureeswarar Temple - It is believed that "Saint Vyasa" visited and worshipped this temple.

Natarajar Temple (Chidambaram ) 78 kms from Kumbakonam - Chidambaram is associated with Nataraja, or Shiva in his Ananda Tandava pose (the Cosmic Dance of bliss) in the cosmic golden hall and the hall of consciousness (Chit Sabha).

Dharasuram – It was built by the Chola King, Rajaraja II. This temple is dedicated to Shiva, who is Airavateshvara, the “Lord of Airavata”

Tirubuvanam - Kambaharesvarar Temple was built by the King Kulothunga III (1179 AD - 1216 AD)

Gangaikonda Cholapuram - It is one of the very ancient temples of Tamil Nadu, built in the Chola style.

Brihadishwara Temple - It was built by the Chola emperor Rajendra I. Later additions were made in the 15th century by the Nayaks. It was built as a replica of Thanjavur’s Brihadishvara temple by his father Rajaraja I.

Itinerary:

Day 1:
Starting from Chennai to Kumbakonam by Evening Train.

Day 2:
Reaching Kumbakonam at early morning. Check in to Hotel. After Refresh going to see All Temples in Kumbakonam, Night stay in Kumbakonam.

Day 3:
Early Morning Check out Hotel and start to see the temples around Kumbakonam. Evening reach at Railway station on the way to Chennai.

Day 4:
Early morning reach at Chennai with wonderful memories.
