Vattakottai (6 kms from Kanyakumari)- It was built in the 18th century as a coastal defence-fortification and barracks in the erstwhile Travancore kingdom.
Suchindram (11 Kms from Kanyakumari )– 18 Feet height Anjenya
Padmanathapuram Palace ( 35 Kms from Kanyakumari)- The palace was constructed around 1601 A.D by Iravipillai Iravivarma Kulasekhara Perumal who ruled Travancore between 1592 A.D. and 1609 A.D.
Pechiparai Reservior (Boating) 60 Kms from Kanyakumari - It was built during the period 1897 - 1906 by the European Engineer, Mr Minchin
Thirparappu Falls (70 Kms from Kanyakumari)- The trough was constructed in 1966 as a drought relief measure across the river Pahrali. Its purpose is to carry water for irrigation from one side of a hill to the other. It is seven 2.1 m high.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Starting from Chennai to Kanyakumari by Evening Train.
Day 2:
Reaching Kanyakumari at early morning. Check in to Hotel. After Refresh going to see Vivekananda Memorial, Tiruvalluvar Statue, Gandhi Memorial and Evening Sun Set. Night Stay at Hotel.
Day 3:
Early morning to see Sun Rise. Visit to Bhavathi Amman Temple. Check out Hotel and going to Shopping. Evening 5.00 pm return by train.
Day 4:
Reaching morning 6 am to Chennai with wonderful memories.
